New EU Journal sanctions monitoring
Starting from 1 August 2026, we are introducing a new list type (data source) with the code EU_LEX into the AML Scanner and Sanctions Lists modules.
This new list contains sanctions arising directly from implementing regulations published in the Official Journal of the European Union (EUR-Lex / OJEU). It ensures even faster access to the continuously evolving EU sanctions landscape.
In addition to the existing consolidated sanctions list (code: EU), we are adding this source covering entities designated under EU sanctions programs in the Official Journal but not yet included in the EU’s consolidated sanctions list.
The European Union publishes a consolidated sanctions list as a primary data source for sanctioned entities. However, sanctions are first published in the Official Journal of the EU (OJEU) and take immediate effect when published. The transposition of new designations into the consolidated file has often involved a significant delay (over 20 days in one case), meaning that relying on the consolidated list alone would create significant legal risk.
The introduction of the EU_LEX resource eliminates this gap and allows for the latest EU sanctions to be taken into account on an ongoing basis, through daily monitoring of the Official Journal of the EU to detect changes to regulations even more quickly.
Below is a list of regulations covered by the monitoring:
| EU sanctions act number | Subject | Sanctions type |
